My Everything
Sometimes I feel so awfully alone,
Worn to the nub by life's grindstone,
With little to tell of my legacy
But empty footnotes of futility.
Yet in those moments of darkest despair
I'm ever reminded that You truly care.
And as I suffer my deepest pain
I feel Your love and know You reign.
You, oh God, are my everything, my everything!
You, my God, are my everything, my everything!
To live a perfect life, and give it up for me,
Shedding Your blood so I could be free,
You, my God, are my everything, my everything!
Sometimes I gaze in the mirror to see
What You embrace so eagerly.
By every standard this world declares
I stand condemned an utter failure.
Yet You stood beside me before my first breath,
And despite my stumbles, You never left.
Now I take heart when doubts burn my soul
That I can rely on the One in control.
You, oh God, are my everything, my everything!
You, my God, are my everything, my everything!
To live a perfect life, and give it up for me,
Shedding Your blood so I could be free,
You, my God, are my everything, my everything!
